Present Perfect Continuous

ПРИМЕНЕНИЕ

1. Действие происходило до недавнего времени / до настоящего момента:

You have been working in the garden all day? That’s why you look exhausted.
I’ve been swimming. That’s why my hair is wet.
Where have you been? ~ I’ve been repairing the car.
You are sleepy. ~ I’ve been reading all night.

2. Действие началось в прошлом и продолжается сейчас (не обязательно в данный момент):

I’ve been waiting for you since 2 o’clock (Я жду вас с двух часов)
Jean has been playing the piano since she was four (… играет на пианино с четырёх лет)
We’ve been studying German since last year (… учим немецкий с прошлого года)

For – сколько продолжалось / уже продолжается происходящее действие:
My sister has been staying with me for three weeks now (…гостит у меня уже три недели)
I’ve been swimming for two years now (… занимаюсь плаванием уже два года)

Sinceкогда началось происходящее сейчас действие:
You’ve been playing on this computer since 7 o’clock (… играете с 7 часов)
I’ve been trying to convince him of that since yesterday.

Recently, lately – недавно, в последнее время:
I haven’t been feeling very well recently (… в последнее время неважно себя чувствую)
What have you been doing lately? (Что ты делал / делаешь в последнее время)

Обычно, группа Continuous не употребляется со статичными глаголами (описывающими НЕ действие, А состояние):

Cтатичные глаголы:
1. ментальные
– мысли и мнения (agree, believe, doubt, guess, imagine, know, mean, recognize, remember, suspect, think, understand)
– чувства и эмоции (dislike, hate, like, love, prefer, want, wish)
– восприятие (appear, be, feel, hear, look, see, seem, smell, taste)
2. владеть (belong, have, possess, own)
3. измерять (measure, weigh)

I’ve known the secret for a long time (NOT I’ve been knowing the secret…)
My parents have had this car for about 10 years (NOT My parents have been having…)
We have never been happy here, I’m afraid (NOT We’ve never been being happy here, …)
